Bertrand Grospellier, better known by his online moniker ‘ElkY’, is one of the world’s most recognizable poker players and a certified esports world champion. He holds multiple poker titles, including World Poker Tour (WPT) and European Poker Tour (EPT) wins and two WSOP bracelets.
With his first WSOP bracelet win in 2011, he became the fourth person to claim the triple crown of poker, a feat only nine players to date have accomplished.
‘ElkY’ hails from Melun, France and before making a big splash in the world of poker, he made his mark as one of the top-ranked StarCraft players in the world. He moved to South Korea and became one of the most famous esports professionals in the country.
After retiring from competitive esports, ‘ElkY’ turned to poker. It didn’t take him long to experience similar success at the poker tables, starting his adventures in 2005. As of January 2023, he has earned almost $15M in live poker tournament winnings, placing him 1st on France's all-time money list.
He is considered one of the pioneers of online poker, having started playing in the early days of the internet poker boom. One of his early accomplishments, which helped propel his name into the stratosphere, was becoming the first player to reach “Supernova” status and then “Supernova Elite” status at PokerStars – his ability to put in long hours at the toughest tables and games remains legendary.
