Nick Maimone

At 36, North Carolina native Nick Maimone has spent over a decade engrossed in the high-stakes world of professional poker. Ever since he discovered the game's intricacies at the age of 20, he has been entranced by its beauty and complexity.

Just one year after his discovery, Maimone entered and placed 15th in the WSOP main event. This achievement marked the start of his professional poker career and he's been holding his own at the table since, favoring the fast-paced dynamics of 6-max multi-table tournaments at his preferred venue, GG poker.

In 2010, Maimone's journey took an unexpected turn when he moved to Honduras to teach English at a bilingual school. There he met his wife, and together they began serving at an orphanage and malnutrition center. Their commitment to service evolved into house calls, identifying malnourished children, and establishing deep ties with local families and businesses. What began as a modest initiative to provide nutrition and basic needs to ten families blossomed into supporting 500 within a decade. This remarkable endeavor culminated in the birth of 'Empathy Into Action' (EIA).

While poker remains his passion, Maimone nurtures a wealth of interests. He is a devout Christian, he cherishes time spent with his wife and children, nurturing his eclectic music collection, and engaging in basketball and soccer. He is passionate about wildlife conservation, child advocacy, and gardening, as well as staying informed about current events, history, and health.
