WSOP Online 2022
WSOP Online Bracelet Series 2022
In 2022, GGPoker and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) once again joined forces to offer non-US based online poker players a chance to win WSOP gold bracelets. The online tournament series awarded 33 gold bracelets from August 14 through September 27, 2022.
Among those to reign victorious at the WSOP events and win gold bracelets during the GGPoker’s WSOP Online Series 2022 were Amichai Barer, Dimitar Danchev, Joni Jouhkimainen, Jans Arends, Mark Radoja, Rui Ferreira, Stefan Schillhabel, and ‘C Segebrecht’ who doubled up and earned two World Series of Poker gold bracelets.
The WSOP Online kicked off in a big way with Event #1: $500 The Housewarming No Limit Hold’em which attracted a massive 5,099 entrants, which surpassed the $2.022 million guarantee by creating a $2,422,025 prize pool. Germany’s Stefan Schillhabel won the inaugural Texas Hold’em poker tournament, earning $296,409 in winnings.
This however was not the first bracelet awarded as Event #2: $1,111 Every 1 for War Relief finished first. When the last cards were dealt, it was ‘C Segebrecht’ who topped a field of 730 entries to win that tournament, which raised over $80,000 for charity, to claim his first WSOP online gold bracelet of the series and $102,152 in prize money.
Event #7: Million Dollar Mystery Bounty – $1M Top Bounty of the World Series of Poker saw 51,003 poker players pay the $210 buy in, creating a $10,200,600 prize pool. When the final poker hand finished, it was the poker player going by the name ‘PH14′ reigning supreme to capture a WSOP bracelet and the top prize of $367,953. Mystery Bounty poker tournaments run a bit differently than most as the winner is not normally the one to take the biggest prize. In this Texas Hold’em tournament poker game, the largest portion of the prize pool went to ‘ItsRumcake’ who found the $1,000,000 bounty and finished 713th – a pretty good reward to play poker.
One of the biggest stories to come out of the series was from the winner of the 2nd WSOP online poker tournament. ‘C Segebrecht’ bested a 1,317 poker players to win the Texas Hold’em Event #31: $1,050 Beat the Pros Bounty Freezeout for $107,670 in winnings and his second bracelet of this WSOP event. It had been just 40 days since ‘C Segebrecht’ last online poker bracelet.
Bulgaria’s Dimitar Danchev was victorious in Event #10: $10,000 Heads-Up NLHE Championship, which began with 97 players. The Bulgarian won his World Series of Poker online poker bracelet and earned $327,668, which put him over the $5 million mark in live and online tournament poker games.
Another huge online poker tournament was Event #28: $400 COLOSSUS. The multiple day 1 tournaments, attracted 10,090 online poker players willing to pay the $400 buy in. When the finale of this Texas Hold’em poker began, the prize pool had swelled to $3,793,840. When the last hand was played, it was ‘SlimLady’ with all the chips, topping all the entries and winning $378,507.
The series culminated with the $5,000 buy in Event #33: WSOP Online MAIN EVENT. This final World Series of Poker online tournament offered a $20,000,000 guarantee. The multiple day 1 tournaments attracted 4,984 entries, destroying the online poker guarantee and creating a prize pool of $23,674,000. When the final table was done, at the last of the online World Series of Poker tournaments, the only one remaining was Simon Mattsson who ended the series with $2,793,574 in winnings from this one tournament.
